SCOTT TO SERVE AS POLICY ANALYST TO GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF RECOVERY AND RENEWAL
(JACKSON, Mississippi) - Matthew Scott of Jackson has been named public assistance policy analyst in Governor Haley Barbour's Office of Recovery and Renewal, where he will work with Katrina-effected governmental entities to coordinate FEMA funding under the Stafford Act, the primary federal law governing disaster recovery efforts.
“We are delighted to have Matt on our team,” said Bryan McDonald, director of the Governor’s Office of Recovery and Renewal. “I know he will serve the citizens of Mississippi well as we strive to implement our long-term recovery plans to rebuild south Mississippi and the Coast and preserve the culture of these local communities.”
Scott is a recent graduate of Millsaps College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and he is currently pursuing a Masters of Accounting and preparing for the CPA exam. At Millsaps he was a student member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and served as Treasurer of Beta Alpha Psi honor society. Within his community, Scott serves as a youth leader and outreach volunteer for Harvest Celebration Church in Jackson.
