GOVERNOR BARBOUR’S JUDICIAL ADVISORY
COMMITTEE SEARCHING TO FILL VACANCY
Governor Haley Barbour’s Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee is conducting a search to replace retiring Circuit Court Judge Frank Vollor of the Ninth District, which covers Issaquena, Sharkey and Warren counties. Judge Vollor has notified the Governor he will retire May 31.
“For 20 years, Judge Vollor has devoted his time and energy to serving the citizens of the Ninth District,” Governor Barbour said. “I congratulate him on his retirement and thank him for his service.”
The Governor’s Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee will review nominees in accordance with Executive Order 914 and make recommendations on a replacement. The 31-member committee includes a chairman and 10 attorneys from each of the state’s Supreme Court Districts.
Anyone interested in recommending prospective candidates should contact Ed Brunini, Jr., Chairman of the Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee at (601) 948-3101. Anyone interested in applying should send 12 copies of their resume and a writing sample to Mr. Brunini at P.O. Box 119, Jackson, MS 39205. The deadline for submitting applications is April 20, 2009.
