(JACKSON, Mississippi) — The largest commercial property casualty insurer in Mississippi, The Travelers Companies, Inc., will locate a new Claim Customer Service Center in Jackson and create 75 new jobs for the Metro area, Governor Haley Barbour announced today.

“Travelers has a proven record of commitment to Mississippi and the Southeast region, and I am pleased they have chosen to locate their new Claim Customer Service Center in Jackson,” Governor Barbour said. “The company’s decision is a clear indication that with an attractive business climate and quality workforce, Mississippi continues to shine as a top strategic location for business expansion in the U.S.”

The Travelers Claim Customer Service Center will be located in the UBS Building off Interstate 55 in Jackson, which enables Travelers to increase its accessibility to agents and customers while also ensuring business continuity, according to company officials. Expected to open in May, the Claim Customer Service Center will create about 75 new jobs for residents of the Metro Jackson area, thus doubling Travelers’ total employment in Mississippi. “We at Travelers are pleased to expand our operations in Mississippi,” said Jay Fishman, chairman and chief executive officer of Travelers. “Travelers is continuing to write new business in the state, and this new claim office supports our strategy of locating claim professionals close to the customers and agents we serve.”
