How did Tiny Tim come to be a Toronto Maple Leafs? I heard once that he was also an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan and was once thrown out of Shibe Park (then home of the Philadelphia Phillies) for excessive heckling. Any truth to that?

Great site! It has been in my "favorites" for quite some time now.

I've been a Tiny Tim fan since the Laugh-In days and, at the age of 10 (in the summer of 1968) actually saw him perform at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas -- the thrill of a lifetime! Later that year, I dressed up as Tiny Tim for Halloween. Thanks to Tiny Tim, I am to this day a fan of popular music of the 1920s and 1930s.

My questions: (1) How did Tiny Tim come to be a Toronto Maple Leafs fan? (2) I heard once that he was also an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan and was once thrown out of Shibe Park (then home of the Philadelphia Phillies) for excessive heckling. Any truth to that?

Hello Andy,
Glad you like the website! Believe it or not Tiny became a big Toronto Maple Leaf's fan because he really liked the leaf emblem on their uniforms! He was once thrown out of a ballgame for getting too excited and loudly singing "Living In The Sunlight, Loving In The Moonlight" in the stands! I believe it was a Brooklyn Dodgers game. I've been a big fan since the Laugh-In days too! I was 13 at the time. Thanks for writing and have a good evening!

Best,
Ernie Clark (www.charlestonchronicle.net)
