Samaritan’s Feet and Elevation Church Team Up for the 2nd Annual Celebration of Love with Mother Emanuel Church

June 18, 2016 Charleston Shoes of Hope Distribution

On Saturday, June 24th, Samaritan’s Feet and Elevation Church will team up for the 2nd annual Celebration of Love with Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. Volunteers will spend time with each shoe recipient by washing his or her feet, placing a new pair of athletic shoes and socks on them, and encouraging them. The event will take place at 10:00am at Charleston Progressive Academy, 382 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
Samaritan’s Feet was started in 2003 by Manny Ohonme, who received his first pair of shoes from a missionary when he was a child in Nigeria. Those shoes allowed him to learn and play basketball, ultimately earning him a sports scholarship in the U.S. A simple pair of shoes and the kindness shared by this “Good Samaritan” changed the course of Manny’s life. The mission of Samaritan’s Feet’s is to bring that same message of hope and love to children and adults in the U.S. and around the world.
Volunteers should arrive to the gymnasium at 9:00am for volunteer orientation and to receive role assignments. For more information visit
