On June 23, Andre Ellington, running back/wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals and his cousin, Bruce Ellington, wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, will host the fourth annual Ellington Elite Youth Football Camp for 1,000 area children, ages 6-16 at Berkley High School. Andre and Bruce are both graduates of Berkley High School and Clemson University and South Carolina respectively. The goal of the camp is to create a camp for the youth of Moncks Corner and the surrounding areas that focuses on healthy eating habits and behaviors.
Alongside Andre and Bruce will be other prominent NFL players, who will provide instruction and motivational lessons with the support of local area coaches and community partners. This event brings together youth and their families to focus on football skills, health, and wellness and is fun for all ages.
This year’s camp will be from 9 am to 12 pm on June 23rd at Berkeley High School’s football stadium, with an autograph session from 12:30 pm to 2 pm. In addition, every child and their parents/guardians will have the opportunity to receive FREE:
- Concussion awareness and proper tackling techniques
- Mentoring breakout sessions
- Anti-drug and violence sessions
- Preventative medical screenings for diabetes, vision, blood pressure, and Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Health and wellness discussion groups
