Join the Chamber and Mayor Keith Summey as we welcome the
Carolina Youth Development Center to the North Charleston community.
We will be there along with other special guests to commemorate the opening of the Lowcountry’s first independent living home for children aging out of foster care.
Carolina Youth Development Center, formally known as the Charleston Orphan House is the longest run non-profit in South Carolina and was the first public orphanage in the United States. They offer a residential program that helps young adults who have no where to go when they are 18 years old and out of traditional foster care.
