    "Black Refractions: Highlights from the Studio Museum in Harlem"

    Nightly Spirits’ Pub Tour Trolls Into Town

    Nightly Spirits, the nation’s largest haunted pub tour company providing tours in 14 cities across the nation, is bringing its spooky ghost tales and lively tour guides to Charleston, South Carolina with tours kicking off Friday, June 28th. Established in 2012, Nightly Spirits boasts year-round, intimate tours of just 15 to 20 guests that provide a hair-raising history through Charleston’s apparitional annals.

    Priced at just $25 for a two-and-a-half-hour tour that includes some pub time to drown the darkness, locals and tourists ages 21-and-up will gain access to exclusive off-limits areas throughout Charleston’s most “spectered” saloons.  Enthusiastic and costumed tour guides will cast a spooky spell throughout the evening with their knowledgeable, theatric and even comedic tales of Charleston’s other worldly adventures.

    Starting at 8:30 p.m., tour guests will meet their guide at Henry’s on the Market to kick off their night of ghoulish adventure. The tour will continue on to the equally haunted Tommy Condon’s where guests will learn why Charleston got its famous nickname, with Blind Tiger rounding out the night with more libations and haunted happenings.

    Indigo Dye Class and Book Discussion

    Participate in a hands-on indigo dye class, followed by a discussion of “The Letterbook of Eliza Lucas Pinckney” and “Red, White, and Black Make Blue” by Andrea Feeser. Participants will benefit from reading either book (or both!) prior to the discussion.

    Moncks Corner Back to School Bash

    Corner Squad, the entertainment company of hip-hop artist 2SLiK, will put on a Back to School Bash and school book bag drive on Saturday, August 3.

    The family-friendly event, which is free to the public, will take place from 12 to 4 p.m. at the VFW 9505 at 1141 South Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner, and all proceeds and donations will benefit Berkeley County First Steps.

    Driven by a desire to help single parents in need, the event will be hosted by 2SLiK and music promoter Britt Bratt with support from event mavens Jessica Garrett and Amber Rodgers.

    Performing that afternoon will be R&B and pop artist Ashly C, country singer James Webber, and cover artist Katelynn Smith, all Charleston natives. DJ Lil G will spin tunes during the rest of the event, which will also include a car show.

    Children will enjoy a karaoke contest, the chance to interact with a K-9 unit and fire & rescue teams, free children’s haircuts, and free health screenings including dental and vision checkups arranged by Berkeley County First Steps. A single mother specializing in weight loss will be on hand to offer free counseling to single parents.

    All single mothers, parents, and families are encouraged to attend. “We hope to see all of Moncks Corner show up!” said 2SLiK.

    Everything at the event will be free to the public, including food and drinks. Donations to Berkeley County First Steps will be accepted on site for those who can afford to give. The event hosts are also encouraging attendees to donate school book bag items of any sort, such as construction paper, coloring utensils, educational games, hand sanitizer, tissues, and for young children, diapers and wipes.

    Share Something Real with Free Scoop of NadaMoo! Ice Cream

This is not a traditional tour as NadaMoo! is setting up experiential venues for guests to lounge in a coconut chair photo-booth and enjoy free scoops of its creamy coconut-milk ice cream that is served from an umbrella covered tricycle.

    The NadaMoo! Share Something Real tour will pop-up in Miami at Redux Contemporary Art Center here, the tour will make its way up the east coast to NYC.
