Molina Healthcare of South Carolina Celebrates Baby Safety Month with Free Community Baby Shower

    10:00 am-12:00 pm
    Mt. Pleasant
1092 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. Mt. Pleasant, SC 29462

In celebration of Baby Safety Month, Molina Healthcare of South Carolina is partnering with local organizations to host “A Labor of Love Pregnancy Expo” for new and expecting mothers from Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding area. At this free community baby shower, approximately 100 parents and parents-to-be will receive a complimentary Dr. Cleo diaper bag filled with baby essentials.

To highlight the importance of safe transportation for babies, a speaker will discuss the basics of car seat safety. Parents can also meet local doctors and lactation consultants. Partnering organizations will provide free diapers, wipes, baby clothes and information on maternity care and infant care.

Additionally, attendees can participate in raffles for blankets and gift baskets for girl or boy babies. The grand raffle prize is an ergonomic baby carrier. They can also enjoy refreshments and fun activities such as face painting and balloon animals.

All giveaways will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Mattress Firm Foster Kids Shoe Drive

    10:00 am-8:00 pm

All 16 Mattress Firm stores in Charleston are hosting a shoe drive to benefit local foster youth and families. Now through Tuesday, Oct. 31, during normal store hours, Mattress Firm will accept new shoes and monetary contributions to help local foster children walk with confidence. At the end of the nine-week drive, all proceeds will be donated to Growing Home Southeast, Helping & Lending Outreach Support and the South Carolina Youth Advocate Program.

Throughout the year, Mattress Firm Foster Kids, a program of the Ticket to Dream Foundation, hosts six donation drives at its Charleston-area stores to collect items and raise funds to help thousands of local foster children. Donations from each drive are distributed to partner organizations in the community.
