GOVERNOR BARBOUR REAPPOINTS DRUMMOND TO COMMISSION ON MARINE RESOURCES

 

(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has reappointed Shelby Drummond, of Gautier, to the State Commission on Marine Resources, which works alongside the Department of Marine Resources (DMR) to manage coastal resources including marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas.

 

“Shelby has done an excellent job as a member of this commission, and I’m delighted he has once again accepted this important assignment,” Governor Barbour said.

 

A retired marine biologist, Drummond worked at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration for 42 years. Within his community, Drummond has served as treasurer and president of the Young Men’s Business Club of Moss Point.

 

Drummond has two adult children, Brian and Craig.
