(JACKSON, Mississippi) — Governor Haley Barbour has appointed Charles W. Rigdon, of Columbus, to the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. This commission, which oversees the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, works to maintain the ecological integrity and aesthetic quality of the state’s resources.

“I appreciate Charles’ willingness to serve the state in this capacity. I know his hard work and unique skill sets will be a great asset to the commission as they work to promote conservation and highlight the Mississippi outdoors,” Governor Barbour said.

Rigdon is president of Columbus Nissan, Inc., where he has worked for 22 years. He received the Nissan Award of Excellence, which is given to Nissan’s top performing dealers in all areas each year. Currently, Rigdon also serves as a trustee at East Mississippi Community College and director of the Bank of Vernon.

He graduated from East Mississippi Community College and attended the University of Mississippi. Rigdon and his wife, Regena, have three children: Ryan, Courtney, and Whitney.
