GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS MILLER TO PEANUT PROMOTION BOARD
(JACKSON, Mississippi) — Governor Haley Barbour has appointed Josh Miller, of Yazoo City, to the Mississippi Peanut Promotion Board, which promotes the growth and development of the state’s peanut industry by research, advertisement promotions, and education and market developments.
“With an extensive background in agriculture, Josh brings a wealth of talent to the board. I am confident he will do an outstanding job promoting Mississippi’s peanut industry in this capacity,” Governor Barbour said.
Miller is president of Delta Peanut, LLC, where he farms 2,600 acres of row crops, including cotton, corn, soybeans, and peanuts. He is a member of the Delta Council; Mississippi Peanut Growers Association; and the Sharkey County Farm Bureau. Miller also serves on the Farm Bureau Young Farmer State Committee and is a member of the Farm Bureau Land Use Committee; in 2006 and 2007, he was selected to receive the Farm Bureau Region 8 Young Farmer Achievement Award.
Miller attended the University of Alabama. He and his wife, Melanie, have two children, Reed and Jack.
