GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS HUDSPETH TO STATE BOARD FOR COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGES
(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of H.B. “Bubba” Hudspeth, of Louisville, to the Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, which serves as a coordinating board to authorize disbursements of state appropriated funds to the 15 community and junior colleges throughout the state.
“Bubba is committed to improving the quality of higher education in Mississippi. He has a proven work ethic, and I look forward to working with him as he undertakes this new position,” Governor Barbour said.
Hudspeth, active in construction and real estate development, is president of Hudspeth Construction and Ackerman Forge. He has more than 35 years of community college experience, serving as chairman of the East Central Junior College board of trustees. He was appointed to the State Board of Community and Junior Colleges by former Governor Kirk Fordice for a six-year term; during his term, Hudspeth held the position of vice chairman for three years.
Hudspeth is a graduate of East Central Junior College. He and his wife Faye have two children, Cully and Allyson.
