GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS CLOWER TO FUNERAL SERVICES BOARD

(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of W.E. “Sonny” Clower, of East Fork, to the Mississippi Funeral Services Board. This board is responsible for the licensing and examination administration of funeral services and funeral directing practices.

“Sonny is a good choice to fill this position,” Governor Barbour said. “He brings a wealth of talent to the table, and I am confident he will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”

Clower is a retired Lieutenant Commander with the U.S. Navy. He is a veteran of World War II, where he worked in submarine warfare, and of the Vietnam War, where he worked with Navy cryptologic operations and with ground forces in Chinnampo and Inchon, Korea. In 1969, Clower started PlasterProducts, Inc., a construction company where he remained until his retirement in 1990.
