GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS CLARKE TO STATE BOARD OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY

 

(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of David Clarke, of Greenville, to the Mississippi Board of Public Accountancy representing the Second Congressional District. This board protects the public welfare of the citizens of the State through oversight and regulation of certified public accountants (CPAs) and maintaining the highest standards of proficiency in the profession.

 

“I am proud that David accepted this position to serve on the Public Accountancy Board,” Governor Barbour said. “He has years of financial and economic development experience that make him well-qualified to fill this role. I am confident David will be a great asset and will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”

 

Clarke is a partner with the certified public accounting firm Clarke, Bradley, Baker, and Co., LLP. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. Currently, Clarke serves on the boards of the Mississippi Tax Institute, Washington School, and Delta Children’s Museum.

 

Active in his community, Clarke is the assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 43 and member and past president of the Greenville Rotary Club. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 1981. He is married to the former Kit Branton of Leland, and the couple has two children, David and Georgia.
