Washington, DC - Recent business reports demonstrate that women-owned businesses have established themselves as a growing force of influence and impact within the United States. This has especially been the case for Hispanic and Black-owned women enterprises that collectively represent the fastest growing entrepreneurial segment in country.
Recognizing the important role that women-owned businesses play in the broader US economy and the unique challenges of technology usage and adoption that minority communities disproportionately face, Google has partnered with Walker's Legacy to target diverse women-owned businesses for a national campaign to grow and connect online.
As one of the world's leading technology platforms, Google offers a suite of business applications that can be leveraged by small businesses to reach greater scale with fewer inputs.
The partnership includes Accelerate with Google, an initiative to connect businesses to the resources they need to grow online, and Walker's Legacy, a women in business collective designed to inspire, equip and connect a global network of emerging and established business women, both of whom are committed to making the web work for women-owned businesses.
The national campaign will formally launch in Washington, DC (June 23) and will include stops in New Orleans (July 5) and Atlanta (July 22) to help connect women to the web and to each other.
