GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR ANNOUNCES
STATE PAROLE BOARD APPOINTMENTS

(Jackson, Miss.) - Governor Haley Barbour appointed four new members and reappointed Kareem West, of Jackson, to the State Parole Board, which is a four-year term. Mr. Glenn Hamilton, of Starkville, will chair the board. Other members include: Ms. Bobbie Thomas, of Long Beach, Shannon Warnock, of Ridgeland and Mr. Buddy Tolbert of Chatham.

West, is graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge and received a law degree from John Marshall School of Law. West was appointed in July of 2000. Hamilton, a 13-year business owner, served eight years in the Mississippi State Senate and served four years as Subcommittee Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Thomas is very involved on numerous boards in her hometown of Long Beach. Warnock is a graduate of Mississippi State University and the Mississippi College School of Law. She was also director for the State of Mississippi's Washington, DC Office. Tolbert, a graduate of Mississippi College, served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He previously served on the Parole Board from 1992 - 1996.

"I am very proud of these appointments to the parole board, and I know that they will do an excellent job in serving the citizens of Mississippi," said Governor Haley Barbour.
