Governor Barbour Appoints Brown to (Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Michael P. Brown, of Redwood in Warren County, to the Transportation Commission Appeals Board. This commission is designed to consider appeals from any person who files a complaint against a penalty assessed to him by an agent or employee of the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Brown is Manager of Brown and Brown Trucking, Inc., and is a cattle farmer with Circle “B” Ranches, Inc. He is a board member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, the Mississippi Polled Hereford Association, the Meridian Stockyard, and the Dixie National Rodeo Booster Club. Also, Brown is a 4-H Club Youth Adviser and staff member of the Foundation for Christian Alternative Rehabilitation Center. He has been recognized by the Mississippi State Legislature for his achievements in 4-H livestock and leadership and for selling the World Record Priced Polled Hereford Bull in 1980. Brown is a graduate of Jones County Junior College, where he earned an associate’s degree in business administration. He has two children—Paul, 21, and Janna, 16. ###
