Governor Barbour Appoints Lewis as Chairman of the Athletic Commission

(Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Jon Lewis, of Raymond, as Chairman of the Athletic Commission.

“I am very proud of this appointment,” said Governor Barbour. “Jon brings a wealth of talent to the table, and I know he will do an excellent job in serving the citizens of Mississippi.”

Lewis, a graduate of Mississippi College, is currently serving as the Constable of Hinds County. He is a former United States Marine, and owns and operates the Byram Boxing Academy and Southern Judo and Jujitsu Academy. Lewis will serve a six-year term, ending April 9, 2010.
