Governor Barbour Appoints Barnes to
Mississippi State Board of Contractors

(Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Ralph Barnes, of Jackson, the Mississippi State Board of Contractors. This Board is designed to protect the health, welfare, and safety of contractors and to protect licensed contractors and the public against incompetent, inexperienced, unlawful, and fraudulent acts of contractors.

“I am proud to have Ralph serve on this Board,” said Governor Barbour. “He has the contracting experience necessary to successfully and knowledgeably fulfill the duties of this position, and I am confident he will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”

Ralph Barnes is the President, Managing Partner, and Owner of ADCAMP, Inc. He has worked as the Vice President of Dickerson and Bowen, as Vice President of Plants and Materials at Cook Construction Company, and as Paving Superintendent at Mid State Paving Company. Barnes is a member of the Big Brother-Big Sister Board of Directors and is a former member and past President of the Board of Directors of Canton Academy.

Barnes attended Holmes Community College and earned an Associate’s degree in business. Barnes then attended Mississippi State University from 1971 to 1973 where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
