Governor Barbour Appoints Bonner to the (Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Lance A. Bonner, of Madison, to the Mississippi Judicial Advisory Study. The committee is designed to make recommendations to the Administrative Office of the Courts in the administration of the courts, including obtaining statistical information with reference to cases in the various courts in Mississippi and conducting research relating to improvement of the judicial system in the state. In addition, the study committee may make policy recommendations that will promote the administration of justice and the operation of the courts. “Lance is well-qualified for this position,” Governor Barbour said. “He has experience in the judicial field, and I feel confident he will serve the people of Mississippi well.” Bonner, a Certified Public Accountant, is the executive director for the law firm of Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens, and Cannada, PLLC, where he is responsible for all operations of the firm, including finance, accounting, human resources, technology, and other operations management functions. He has prior finance and management experience in commercial, banking, and manufacturing, and is serving as secretary of the Mississippi Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. Bonner received his business degree from the University of Oklahoma and his master’s degree from Louisiana State University. ###
