Park Circle Comics, producer of “Taking Flight’ comic book shows, has announced a special comic book show, “Tin City”, this Saturday, August 15 at Tin Roof located at 1117 Magnolia Road in Charleston. The show is from Noon – 5pm and will feature the best selection of comic books in town including comics from the Golden Age to present time. In addition, the show will feature premium collectors’ items, graphic novels, magazines and thousands of bargain comics.
Featured artists include Albert Captain from Astronaut Studios, Kelly Ochockithere with comic and magna inspired art and miniatures, and James Christopher Hill with prints and originals.
A suggested $5 donation at the door will benefit Communities in Schools Charleston.
Park Circle Comics in conjunction with The Sparrow began the “Taking Flight” comic book shows in July of 2013. Since then, ten successful “Taking Flight” shows have brought local and regional artists together with fans to have a great time talking about something they all have a passion for, comic books and comic book art. The “Taking Flight” series of comic book shows have been a tremendous success and the attendance continues to grow for each event. Sponsor charities at previous shows were the beneficiaries of nearly $6,500 in donations.
