Lowcountry Immigration Coalition to Protest Trump Sun City Visit
7/17/2015 12:21:13 PM

Members and friends of the Lowcountry Immigration Coalition will hold a silent protest in Sun City on Tuesday, July 21, at the site of the visit of Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Trump has created a nationwide stir with a series of vicious comments about undocumented immigrants, especially singling out Mexicans who he says bring crime, drugs and rapists into the country.

National statistics clearly refute any such accusations, showing most notably that criminality among the undocumented population is less than the native-born. Further, no firm data exist whatsoever to support his comments on rapists. Trump, however, continues to double down on his racist and bigoted comments.

The Sun City members of the Lowcountry Immigration Coalition will conduct their peaceful vigil beginning at 11:30 a.m. on July 21. While the event is open only to Sun City residents, media are expected. Contact Sun City for entrance information.
