Today, Palmetto Goodwill announced it is launching two in-store fundraising campaigns to benefit the families who lost loved ones in the tragic Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting which occurred June 17, 2015. Palmetto Goodwill will match shopper donations up to $25,000.
Shoppers can donate by rounding their purchase amount up to the nearest dollar and donating the change or by purchasing a Mother Emanuel AME Church silhouette for $1 at checkout.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds from both in-store campaigns will be donated to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund which provides direct financial support for funeral and burial expenses of the nine victims as well as benefits to the surviving families and church.
“In many ways, the death of these nine wonderful souls has served to bring our community together.
Over the past few weeks we have witnessed strength and solidarity among our friends, neighbors and families as the community stood together to mourn our loss. As we begin our healing process we must continue to support one another” says Robert Smith, President and CEO, for Palmetto Goodwill.
The fundraising campaigns will run through August 31, 2015 in all Palmetto Goodwill stores.
