The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) has launched a mobile app now available for download to make information and resources related to the park system easier to access.
“Charleston County Parks” is the name of the official app for CCPRC. It provides immediate access to information about the agency’s parks, programs, and special events.
News flashes, alerts, park closures, parking conditions and other time-sensitive details will be available right at users’ fingertips to make a visit to the park system easy, enjoyable and memorable. The app also makes it simple to access facility amenities, hours of operation, fees and directions.
Also on the app is a “Share Your Fun” feature that encourages users to submit their photographs of experiences at the parks for possible sharing by CCPRC on social media or other platforms.
“Our goal is that the app become the first place that people go when they want to access information about Charleston County Parks,” said CCPRC Marketing Director Gina Ellis-Strother. “We want registration and information sharing about the parks to be easy, fun, and interactive, plus convenient from your mobile device.”
“As a park system, most of our customers are far away from their computers when they need to get directions, contact our staff, or find out information while in the parks. With the easy-to-use mobile app, patrons can directly interact with us while they are on a trail or in the middle of their day enjoying the waterpark.”
App features include:
·News – Receive official news about parks
·Calendar – See what’s going on and sign up for event notifications and changes
·Alert – Receive notification about important news, park closures, beach and parking conditions
·Human Resources – Look for job and volunteer opportunities
·Park Passes – Search for the membership that best fits your lifestyle
·Share Your Fun – Share your park pics
·The Parklands Foundation – Learn more about the non-profit partner of your Charleston County Parks
The Charleston County Parks app is available for download free of charge in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
CCPRC also recently launched a re-designed desktop website that is interactive and very user-friendly. The desktop website can be accessed at www.CharlestonCountyParks.com.
