West Ashley High School DECA Team Triumphs at State Conference

The West Ashley High DECA Team recently went to the State Conference and returned with great results. On February 27th and 28th, Terry Stutts and twenty two West Ashley High School DECA students traveled to the 72nd Annual South Carolina DECA Career Development Conference.

The conference consisted of the students competing in role-playing events in different categories like Finance, Marketing, or Hospitality and Management. Out of the twenty two West Ashley High students that competed at the State Conference, eighteen of them placed in the Top 10 for their categories.

Even more impressive than that, four out of the eighteen placed in the Top 5 of their categories. Those students are as follows:
-1st Place – Jerome Smalls – for the 3rd year in a row!!
-3rd Place – Ashante Edwards
-3rd Place – Anthony Brown
-4th Place – Zariah Clay and Katlynn Long

The West Ashley High School DECA Team will travel to Orlando, Florida on April 24-28 to compete in the International Career Development Conference.
