The Charleston County Emergency Management Department and Consolidated 9-1-1 Center have launched a new Citizen Alert Notification System. Charleston County can send information about emergency situations to its citizens through a multitude of platforms.

By signing up, the program allows you to be alerted through one or more of the following ways:

  • Home phone
  • Mobile phone
  • Text message
  • Email
  • Fax

“I urge all citizens to take advantage of this essential safety tool,” said County Administrator Kurt Taylor.

“The sharing of timely, accurate, and relevant information regarding an emergency that has the potential to threaten the safety of those that live in and visit Charleston County is paramount,” said EMD Director Jason Patno. “The County’s newly acquired emergency notification system will greatly assist public safety agencies in protecting those they serve.”

Signing up is easy. Find the Emergency Notification banner on the Charleston County Home Page or go to the page directly by clicking here.

Anyone with questions about the notification program may contact the Emergency Management Department (843) 746-3800.
