The 78th annual North Carolina - South Carolina Shrine Bowl will feature seven players from the Lowcountry in announcement made last week.

Among those chosen to participate are: Woodland defensive lineman Michael Barnett, Summerville offensive lineman Zach Bailey, Goose Creek running back Tyrik Johnson, Stratford kicker/punter Tyler Tekac, Fort Dorchester defensive lineman Eurndraus Bryant, Wando Linebacker Tyler Ragsdale and Garrett defensive lineman Trevon Sanders.

Bailey verbally committed to the University South Carolina over the summer to play for Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks. Barnett signed to the Georgia Bulldogs in September. They are the only lowcountry representatives to make the 2015 ESPN 300 list.

The annual game that will be played December 20th at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford will feature 88 players from the Carolinas. The South Carolina squad (The Sandlappers) leads the series 43-30-4 and has won the last two contests over North Carolina (The Tarheels). Tickets to the game can be purchased at www.shrinebowl.com.
