Pick up man’s best friend after work and join the fun at events held especially for dog owners! Charleston County Parks’ popular Yappy Hour and Pups, Yups and Food Trucks series are wrapping up the season in October. Both events are free with park admission and held on select Thursdays each spring through fall.
Yappy Hour features live music and beverages for sale in the off-leash dog park at James Island County Park. Yappy Hour will host its series finale on Oct. 16 with live music by Whiskey Diablo, from 4 p.m. – sunset.
Pups, Yups and Food Trucks offers on-site food trucks and live music in the meadow at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant, just adjacent to the dog park. Pups, Yups and Food Trucks will host its final event of 2014 on Oct. 23 with the Charleston Choo food truck and live music by Dallas Baker and His Bluegrass Friends.
You and your dog can mingle with friends old and new, while enjoying a festival-like atmosphere in the park. Both events are free with general park admission ($1 per person or free with Charleston County Parks’ Gold Pass)! Beverages and food are available for an additional fee. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited.
Other dog-friendly county parks’ events coming up this fall are Bark in the Park!
