Jazz on the River: Jazz on the River was an amazing event. It was located on the beautiful Riverfront Park in North Charleston. The event was filled with an amazing assortment of jazz music, singing and spoken word. The Liberty Hill Improvement Council did a great job on this event and it was for a great cause. This nonprofit helps to increase the literacy rates among children in grades K-5 in the Charleston County School District. The line up for Jazz on the River was a treat. Devone Gary started it of with a solo saxophone performance, New Galaxy entertained next, and the New Image Band ended the night. It was a great event, definitely going back next year.

Signature Cocktail Contest 1.2: Taylor of Palace Hotel (35 Hanover Street) amazed bar patron with his signature drink for the Red Party Cocktail Competition, the Madame Vigee Le Brun. The drink was a tribute to the French artist made famous for her “Rococo” style paintings. Taylor used a combination of Pama Liqueur, Larceny Bourbon, Lunazul Blanco, local peaches and thyme. It was delicious. Find our full list of cocktail tasting dates on our Facebook page: Charleston Cocktail Bandits. All the tasting are free and support the American College of the Building Arts. Be sure to vote for your favorite cocktail online. One lucky winner gets a free ticket to the annual Red Party on October 24th.

Fundraiser for Patrick Bell for RMC: Fun & fundraising at Black Bean Co. for the Patrick Bell for RMC. The county office of RMC (Regiser Mesne Conveyance) handles mortgages, liens, titles, deeds and plats. This very important office has been held by the same individual for several decades. Patrick Bell hopes to change that. He has the support of recently elected South Carolina State Senator Marlon Kimpson, who also spoke during the event.

Fundraiser for Patrick Bell for RMC: To show that politics isn’t all bills and amendments, Patrick Bell and local Democratic Party President Brady Quirk-Gavin participated in the ice bucket challenge in support of ALS. Do your do dillegence as a resident of our fair city and find out what you can do implement change in Charleston.
