8/20/2014 3:15:43 PM

The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry  (CML), thanks to PNC Bank, will host the first of eight PNC PLAY Days of the 2014-2015 school year on Friday, September 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The program provides Lowcountry families FREE admission, playtime in the Museum, unique games and crafts and a complimentary pass to return to the Museum for more FREE play. The first 250 families will also receive a FREE children's book.

Registration begins at 3:45 p.m. outside of CML's main entrance, located at 25 Ann Street, downtown Charleston.

Eight PNC PLAY Days are scheduled for the 2014-2015 school year on the second Friday of each month through May 2015, excluding December. These FREE events, coupled with the complimentary family day passes to visit CML again for free, will allow Lowcountry children and their grown-ups to play in the Museum for free for a total of 16 times this school year.

Past free events sponsored by PNC Bank have been very successful at CML, with more than 4,000 Lowcountry children and their families visiting CML for its four events of the 2013-2014 school year.

Denis Chirles, Executive Director of the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry said, "We are thrilled to partner with PNC Bank again for another school year filled with FREE play at the Children's Museum. We invite all Lowcountry children and their grown-ups to play with us at each PNC PLAY Day this year and we look forward to celebrating the importance of playing and learning together. With PNC's support, we are excited to once again provide this vital community outreach opportunity to all families."

"PNC's support of the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry provides more local children with free access to fun learning activities, critical to their development and preparedness for school," said Ben Fordham, PNC Bank branch manager.
