Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week® (CFW), one of the leading fashion weeks in the US, continues to exceed expectations and grow by leaps and bounds. With record attendance, sponsor participation, and international media attention, the event made a significant impact to the local economy. According to the Office of Tourism Analysis at The College of Charleston, the Baker Motor Company Charleston Fashion Week® 2014 boosted the local economy by close to $ 3.0 million in its eighth year. The event also had the following characteristics:

  • 180 + million media impressions including TV, print, radio, and online.
  • 7,500+ attendees were highly educated with significant disposable income.

“We are thrilled with the continued success of Charleston Fashion Week® and the recent survey results reinforce the economic impact of the event. We’re thankful to the community, our employees, participating retailers, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers for their support. Last year’s inclusion of a media center sponsored by Jewelry TV, Gwynn's of Mount Pleasant Wine & Shine VIP Lounge presented by Atlantic Coast Advisory Group, expanded technology and services in The Belk Tent, increased runway shows, and a superior style lounge brought further enhancements to the attendees experience.  We are looking forward to continuing relationships in 2015,” said Jed Drew, the president of Gulfstream Communications, which owns and produces CFW, as well as Charleston magazine & Charleston Weddings magazine. We’re already knee-deep into planning for next year and proud to announce that CFW 2015 will take place March 17 – 21, 2015.”

In addition, on the horizon for 2015 is the expansion of the Charleston Weddings’ Spring Bridal Show from its Saturday runway event into a week of celebrating all things bridal fashion and more.  “It’s a natural and exciting evolution of our always sold-out event,” states Charleston Weddings editorial director, Melissa Bigner.
