COPPELL, TX- Beginning this week through the end of July, CiCi’s Pizza, home of the endless buffet, will raise money for Special Olympics South Carolina at six participating CiCi’s restaurants in the state. Guests can purchase Special Olympics paper logos for $1 and in return receive a coupon for a free regular-sized drink redeemable in August with the purchase of an adult buffet. All proceeds from the logo sales will benefit Special Olympics South Carolina state programs.

To celebrate the beginning of the month-long fundraiser, Special Olympics athletes will be on hand for meet-and-greets with guests at most participating South Carolina restaurants on Tuesday, July 7, from 5-7 p.m.

“Cover the Cruiser” events at participating restaurants will cap off the effort on Thursday, July 31. CiCi’s will challenge guests to purchase enough Special Olympics paper logos to cover an entire law enforcement vehicle. In addition to donating all logo proceeds, participating CiCi’s will donate 10 percent of that day’s sales to Special Olympics South Carolina.

“This is our third year to partner with Special Olympics, and we are honored to engage our teams and guests to benefit such an admirable organization again this year,” said CiCi’s Field Marketing Manager Diana Isaacson. “CiCi’s cares about its communities and all the families that make them great. We invite our guests to come in and help us support this worthy cause.”

Special Olympics South Carolina provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type events for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This training gives participants the opportunity to develop physically and emotionally while experiencing joy and sharing gifts, skills and friendships.

“Special Olympics allows people with intellectual disabilities to be part of a larger community of athletes, coaches, volunteers and supporters,” said President and CEO of Special Olympics South Carolina Barry Coats. “By partnering with CiCi’s Pizza, we are able to help more individuals and families in South Carolina.”
