Salem Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Vaction Bible School June 23-27, 2014 at the church located at 570 Rutledge Avenue Charleston, SC 29403 from 6:00 pm -8:00pm nightly. The theme for this year’s event is “The Jesus Connection....What A Friend!”. The BWHS Alumuni Association Annual Tea is scheduled for June 22,2014 at 4PM at the Felix Pinckney Community Center on Liberty Hill 4790 Hassell Street North Charleston. Morris Brown African Methodist Episcopal Church located in downtown Charleston is celebrating its 148th anniversary. One of the celebration events is a Vendor Bizarre/Carnival to be held June 21, 2014, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the church. Local vendors will display and offer for sale various merchandise and foods. Free food items are: popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy. The Carnival will have a ‘Kidz Zone’ for children to enjoy fun and exciting activities. There will also be a display of motorcycles by a local club. This event will be held outdoors. The rain location is the church fellowship hall. Ms. Thomasina Smith Cook is the Chairperson for 148th Church Anniversary Committee and Rev. Dr. Charles R. Watkins, Jr. is the Servant Pastor. The Charleston Branch NAACP will hold its monthly General Meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the fellowship hall of Morris Brown AME Church, 13 Morris Street. The membership meeting serves to transact the regular business of the Branch and to inform those in attendance of community concerns and issues raised and being addressed. Chartered in 1917, the Charleston Branch is the oldest and one of the largest and most diverse NAACP Branches in South Carolina. All members of the NAACP are asked to attend, and all members of the general public are also welcome and
encouraged to attend.

LAING HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1961 will host A FREE WILL GOSPEL PROGRAM themed “If We Could Help Somebody, Then Our Living Won't Be In Vain!!!!!!” on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 4:00 pm.
