The March of Dimes Lowcountry Division and Halls Chophouse are pleased to announce Matthew Niessner, Executive Chef at Halls Chophouse, is serving as the Lead Chef for this year's Signature Chefs Auction. Chef Niessner will be recognized at the event for his outstanding accomplishments in the culinary world, along with his dedication to the March of Dimes. Chef Niessner has participated in the event for more than 7 years.
The March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction, in its 15th year, highlights the culinary excellence of the area's finest chefs. This year's event is Thursday, October 2nd at the Charleston Marriott Crystal Ballroom. This event helps raise important dollars for the March of Dimes in the Lowcountry while paying tribute to the culinary excellence of our local chefs and caterers. The black tie affair is geared toward people who enjoy fine dining, fine wine, auctions and entertainment. In addition to sampling signature dishes, guests will be able to bid on many unique silent and live auction items.
Chef Niessner has been instrumental in recruiting several of the area's finest chefs. Chefs for the evening include Patrick Owens of Opal, Jason Rheinwald of The Ocean Room, Steven Lusby of 82 Queen, Daniel Doyle of Poogan's Porch, Danny Kane of Rita's Seaside Grille, Kevin Johnson of The Grocery, Marc Collins of Circa 1886, John Zucker of Cru Café and Catering, Matthew Brigham of Laura Alberts Tasteful Options and Chef Robert Carter.
The event is sponsored by Legacy Wealth Management, MeadWestaco, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, The Greenery, ISHPI, Ears of Experience and Trident Medical Center.
