Discovering County Parks: Exploring Laurel Hill
Pre-registration is required to participate. The ruins of plantation homes at Laurel Hill reveal the presence of two very different societies, enslaved and free, that interacted in ways almost unimaginable today and from which the largely Gullah Phillips community emerged. A registered chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Canoe Programs: Long Savannah Interpretive Canoe Tour

This workshop (IDW) with the certification exam (ICE) is for the ACA's L-2 Basic Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Instructor. This certification is for those teaching students in areas with mild winds and modest tidal currents. It emphasizes safety, efficiency, and self-reliance for those traveling by SUP in controlled conditions. Animal Vocalizations for the Visually Impaired
Join CCPRC's naturalists to discover who is making noises at night. We will listen for and learn about owls, frogs, insects, and other nocturnal noisemakers. Blind and visually impaired persons of all ability levels, as well as sighted persons, with an interest in sharpening their listening skills, are welcome. Activities include adaptive techniques for safe, enjoyable participation. Personal assistants for visually impaired participants are welcome free of charge. Our trek through many distinct habitats will allow us to view and discuss a variety of birds, butterflies, and other organisms. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-in registrations at Caw Caw are welcome.

It's time to perfect your technique! Using on-water practice and video analysis, our ACA instructors will assist you with fine-tuning your paddling skills. This course is designed for those with basic skills who want to take it to the next level. Pre-registration required.
