Local players from various vocations congregated at The Harbour Club in downtown Charleston on April 17 to celebrate the first anniversary of the Movers & Shakers Mix.

Born out of a networking opportunity, the monthly Movers & Shakers mixers have grown to create a united and diverse group of individuals to share their ideas, gather support, and build connections in an inviting setting.

Participants mingled while grooving to a live band, partaking in the open bar, and savoring light eats. Guests came from backgrounds such as art, law, youth development, fashion, and various others.

Stations were provided to present products from vendors which included Mary Kay, Daddy’s Girls Bakery, and Tanteo Tequlia. A raffle awarded several lucky ticket holders with gifts. It was an occasion that truly represented the past, present and future of the Charleston enterprising community.

The event was pioneered a team led by Johnny Caldwell and Taneka Reaves. Their passion and energy exuded through the crowd as guards were let down and strangers became friends within a span of a few moments.

The Movers & Shakers team will not be resting on their laurels, though, as they have big plans for the rest of the year. They are more than willing to establish even more local business relationships. Keep an eye on this ambitious crew of dreamers that have been nailing their objectives with uncanny accuracy for the past year.
