Old Towne Creek County Park is not yet open to the public, but on select dates throughout the year, you are invited to visit this property during Wine Down Wednesday. Guests will enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvres, and live music while visiting this new West Ashley park. A commemorative wine glass is included with admission. Lowcountry Cajun Festival

Bringing Louisiana to the Lowcountry, Cajun Fest is a full-day of foot-stompin' Zydeco music, Cajun and Creole foods, children's activities and all around ragin' Cajun entertainment! Enjoy live music throughout the day from performers Shelly Waters, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble, and Felix y Los Gatos. Don't forget to sign up for the crawfish eating contest, held at 2:30 p.m. Plenty of Cajun and Creole foods as well as other dishes will be available for purchase. Carpooling is recommended. East Coast Paddlesports & Outdoor Festival (ECPOF)

Anyone who enjoys being active in the great outdoors will find something exciting at the East Coast Paddlesports and Outdoor Festival, with activities and entertainment throughout the weekend!
One of the country's premier showcases of canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, the festival now includes a multitude of popular outdoor recreation activities like mountain biking, slack lining, archery, climbing, and disc golf. Attendees can try out equipment, compete in races and other hands-on activities on site, and learn everything from the basics to expert skills in each sport. Afterward, stay to enjoy tasty fare from food vendors on site at the park, enjoy a beverage, and listen to live music. Park admission starts at $1 per person. Sol Driven Train in concert at the East Coast Paddlesports & Outdoor Festival
Friday, April 11, 7 p.m.
James Island County Park
Kicking off the festival weekend is a concert in the park by local favorite Sol Driven Train. Sol Driven Train blends American influences with Afro-Caribbean rhythms through a talented five-piece, multi-instrumental group featuring horns, strings and percussion. Bring chairs or a blanket and settle in for some great music, with plenty of food and beverages for sale. Concert is open to the public and admission is $10. Then, come back over the weekend to try out some awesome outdoor activities at the festival. Concert-goers will receive a discount on the festival's Try It Pass for Saturday or Sunday.
Where the Wild Things Run 5K

The Mount Pleasant Pier is proud to be a part of this highly-anticipated annual event hosted by the Town of Mount Pleasant. This course is designed to expose instructors, instructor trainers, and instructor trainer educators in all disciplines to core coaching competencies and behaviors that enhance long term paddler development by increasing efficiency, student motivation, and an individual's access to learning. While is based on current educational theory and best practice, at its core it's a fun, hands on, collaborative experience designed to harness the talents of each participant. This course is appropriate for American Canoe Association Level 1-5 Instructors, Instructor Trainers, and Instructor Trainer Educators in any discipline.

ECPOF Pre-Festival Offerings: ACA Adaptive Paddling Workshop
This workshop is designed to provide instructors, outfitters, recreation program providers, and rehabilitation professionals with the information they need to integrate paddlers with disabilities into their programs. You'll learn how to compensate for a paddler's loss of function due to disability, how to adapt equipment and instruction, and how to focus on the paddler's ability. Also included is classroom and hands-on learning of adaptation development and instruction with a person who has a disability in both a pool session and an open water paddle. Upon successful completion of this class, all will receive a certificate of completion. ACA certified paddling instructors receive the Adaptive Paddling Endorsement and an ACA Update credit applied to their paddling instructor certification. Beachwalker Bird Walks
The southwestern end of Kiawah Island is an excellent place to spot seabirds and shorebirds. We'll hike nearly two miles of pristine beach looking for a variety of birds, including raptors and songbirds. A chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

North Trail Mountain Biking
Have some fun and get a great work out! Join us for some exciting mountain biking. Gather some of your friends and come out to the North Trail for one of the best trails in the Lowcountry. Bikes will be available for check-out and you may arrive at any time between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for your ride. All equipment is provided and permits are included. Helmets are required and provided. This is not a drop-off program; on-site chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Advanced Climbing Clinics: Climbing 302: Advanced Rescues
Learn what to do when a storm hits and you have to retreat from a route or if your climber is injured and can't be lowered. This class will help you handle these scenarios and much more. Class is taught by an American Mountain Guides Association-Certified Single Pitch Instructor. Participants should have a current CCPRC Belay Card and have taken Climbing 205: Top Rope Rescues or have equivalent experience. Pre-registration is required.
