The City of Charleston has joined forces with the Jefferson Awards for Public Service’s Lead 360 Challenge. The Challenge connects young Americans and communities to the prestige and distinction of the Jefferson Awards with its 42-year history of recognizing excellence in public service. It empowers and educates youth on their ability to effect change: individually, collectively, locally and nationally.

Youth ages 5-25 are encouraged to upload a video of their community service project to the Lead 360 Challenge website to compete for national prizes and a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Young Americans can participate in just four easy steps through Lead360 website, www.lead360.jeffersonawards.org. ; Individuals simply sign up, share their projects, share their results and pictures and videos in order to compete. The deadline for submission is April 25, 2014.

The City of Charleston joins an impressive team of partners including the U.S. Conference of Mayors, National Football League Player Engagement, Youth Service America and many others.

For information on how to participate in the Lead 360 Challenge, visit the Challenge website, www.lead360.jeffersonawards.org. Any additional questions about participating in the Challenge should be directed to Katie Tumbleston at [email protected] or (843) 965-4190.
