SRR 2014 Summer Student Internship Program Applications are Open

AIKEN, S.C. – Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the liquid waste contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS), announced the 2014 Summer Student Internship Program is open for applications until January 31, 2014.

Each year, SRR selects students through an application process to participate in a three-month long internship program with the SRS liquid waste contractor. Students apply from colleges and universities in South Carolina, Georgia and various other colleges and universities across the nation to test their classroom knowledge next to some of the country’s best workers, and to learn what real-world experience means.

Past interns range in age from 19-38, and have pursued degrees in various fields including Engineering, Business and Communication, etc.

The internships will begin mid-May and are expected to conclude in early August. To qualify for an SRR Internship, you must be a U.S. citizen, be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university, and currently have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

SRR is the Savannah River Site’s (SRS) Liquid Waste contractor. SRS is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Professional Solutions.
