This photo was taken at the Rev. Donna Elaine Green Education Scholarship Foundation event, "Afternoon of Hope", at Francis Marion Hotel earlier this summer. The portrait of Rev. Donna E. Green was unveiled at the event. Rev. Green's daughter Rochelle is hlding the portrait on the left, mother Lillian Green in the middle, and Sheryl Lucas, her sister, is on the left surrounded by the official committee.

The Rev. Donna Elaine Green Education Scholarship Foundation has been established to honor the memory and legacy of the Late Rev. Donna Elaine Green.

Rev. Donna Elaine Green was a passionate pastor of Greater Beard Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, community leader, skilled nurse, and godly mentor to so many. Who can find a virtuous woman? She was a virtuous woman, and her memory shall live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She was truly a beacon of hope to the hopeless, and the discouraged found joy in her encouraging words. She had a true passion of assisting young men and woman with expanding their education, and she truly touched so many lives.

It is the foundation’s desire to continue Rev. Green’s legacy, and hopefully to pass her torch to many students who will later pay it forward….Students like Erin Cooke; a freshman at the University of Alabama, like Tyla Camille Stuckey a freshman at Francis Marion University, and Ciera Laren Fields a freshman at Winthrop University. Each of these distinguished young ladies have met all requirements outlined by the official committee and have been chosen as the recipients of the Inaugural 2013 Rev. Donna Elaine Green Education Scholarships!

The presentation ceremony was beautiful with the Green Family present. Preparation for the 2014 Benefit titled “An Evening of Hope” is currently underway. Please visit the official website at www.reverenddonnagreen.org to make donations and for upcoming events.

As Rev. Green would often say, “It is well! Even so, no matter what the situation may be, it is well!”

God Bless.

The Official Committee Would like to extend it’s thanks to its 2013 Sponsors:
