Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties: September 2013 – The Cooper River Bridge Run Grants Program Fund of Coastal Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2013-2014 grants cycle. Started in 2006, the Fund distributes grants ranging from $500-$1,500 for projects that support the group’s mission of “the promotion of regular physical activity for a healthy lifestyle.”
All 501(c)(3) organizations, government programs, schools, and recognized houses of worship located in and serving residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties are eligible to apply. However, preference is given to those requesting funding for a specific program aimed to raise public awareness concerning the importance of consistent exercise, to provide a means for this physical exercise, or to increase the ability for underserved populations to participate in the spring Cooper River Bridge Run.
Applications require a one-page form as well as a program description, budget, and predicted outcome, and must be submitted through email by October 11, 2013.
Following a careful review by the CRBR Grants Committee, applicants will be informed of funding recommendations within six weeks.
