Another program year is coming to a close and Palmetto Youth Connections has many success stories to celebrate!

Three participants in particular have received special honors at the annual Dorchester County Adult Education graduation ceremonies which were held on May 22, 2013.

Tiffany Simmons, Jimmy Opsahl and Deanna McCollum were presented with awards for their individual successes in Adult Education this year.

All three participants are enrolled in Palmetto Youth Connections and link their success to the support they received in the program.

Tiffany Simmons completed her High School Diploma while participating in Palmetto Youth Connections.

On graduation night, she was awarded the Dorchester County Adult Education High School Diploma Student of the Year Award.

She worked hard in the program to increase her math levels so she was no longer basic skills deficient. Soon after, she passed the HSAP test and earned her diploma. She also attended Career Smart employability training and achieved a Silver WorkKeys Certificate. Tiffany's plans for the future are to become a Certified Nurse Aide.
