Virtual Summit: Once Defined By Our Past, We Now Define Our Future

Local leaders will come together Thursday, July 23 at 6 p.mfor an online Virtual Summit to discuss difficult stories from their past and how they were able to move past them and become successful.

Their core message is that our background does not define who we are and that, no matter your past, we all need to show our children that they can still succeed in life.

This online summit will feature the following speakers who will outline their background, tell their story, and answer questions.

-Sherrikka Myers, Founder, Every 1 Voice Matters nonprofit, Coordinator of this Virtual Summit

-Christian Rainey, Founder of M.A.D. USA (Men Against Domestic Violence)

-Lester Johnson, committed murder & served 21 years, author of “Road to Redemption”

-Chief Eric Watson, African American Deputy County Administrator of Public Safety

-Lady T (Twan Richardson), Moderator/On-Air Host, Heaven 1390 AM & 100.1 FM

-Keith Smalls, served 19 years; son was killed a year later

-Lester Young, Jr., Founder of Path2Redemption

Sherrikka Myers, Founder of the local nonprofit, Every 1 Voice Matters, is coordinating this Virtual Summit.

“We want to change the narrative and help youth in our community,” Myers said. “It’s never too late for one to make positive changes in themselves to turn their lives around.”

This Virtual Summit will touch upon:

-each one’s experiences as an African American trying to make their way in the world

-what each learned from their mistakes and how that facilitated personal and professional growth and transformation

-encourage viewers to take hold of their lives, and take positive action to creative inner and outer change 

Sherrikka Myers is a published author, national speaker and founder of Every 1 Voice Matters, a nonprofit designed to help kids break down communicative and social barriers such as stuttering, self-esteem, self-confidence and bullying to improve their quality of life. Her expertise has been featured on ABC FOX and  CBS.
