David President, Jr., also known as the Traveling Tailor, just made his debut as an author. He has released his first self-published book, titled “The Power of a Suit.”
In it, President shares personal testimonies and tips on how to enhance your confidence and gain respect—while having the professional etiquette to match. “When you wear a suit, people view and treat you differently,” he says. “Your peers respect you more and you are likely to flourish both professionally and personally.”
President, a native of Charleston, is a self-taught fashion designer who specializes in custom-made suits, tuxedos and other garments. His success as an entrepreneur however, has been driven by his faith, family and diligence.
Over the last 15 years, President achieved personal success as a hospitality sales veteran, an avid investor, financial literacy coach, Fashion Designer and public speaker. He is the Founder of iTrade Community, an online group that he created to educate and share best practices as it relates to investing, real estate, and building generational wealth.
In 2016, David won the Orlando International Fashion Week Emerging designer competition and in 2018 he was inducted into the Millionaires Club by a private real estate firm in DC. David is passionate about education and continues to challenge himself. In 2018, David attended Cornell University, where he received his Hotel real-estate investment and asset management certification.
The Power of a Suit is a guide for students, teachers, entrepreneurs and business professionals, but President challenges readers from “all walks of life” to use his book as a self-assessment tool. “I wrote this book to share my story and to encourage others to self-reflect.”
The book contains the following six-chapters, “The Epiphany,” “The Interview,” “Making a Lasting First,” “Impression,” “Dress for Success,” “Stepping Out on Faith” and “Manners Will Take You Where Money Won’t.”
President hopes that readers will apply the principles of each chapter to ultimately increase their personal value. “The power of a suit is real,” he expressed. “It positively impacted my life and afforded me great opportunities to excel and grow.”
The Power of a Suit is now available for purchase. On Sunday, June 14, the President Group, LLC will host a virtual book-release with Courtney Scott, founder of the New Normal Styling Company, in the Washington, DC/Maryland area. The interview will begin at 7pm and will be live on Facebook.
