CCSD’s Department of Nutrition Services to continue providing meals this summer

Meal Service at R.B. Stall

Charleston County School District’s (CCSD) Department of Nutrition Services is pleased to announce meal service will continue through the summer for children 18 years and younger.

Starting Monday, June 8, 2020, and lasting through Friday, August 7, 2020, delicious, student-favorite menu items will be served at no cost to students at locations throughout Charleston County. Nutrition Services staff members will provide the meals Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (as they did the final weeks of the school year). Each Monday and Wednesday, students will receive two lunches and two breakfasts. On Friday, students will receive a total of six meals with shelf-stable items.

Meals will be served curbside at the following locations from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays:

St. James-Santee Elementary-Middle School

District 2

Laing Middle School

District 3

Harbor View Elementary School

District 4

Charleston County School of the Arts (Bonds-Wilson Campus)

Chicora Elementary School

Ladson Elementary School

R.B. Stall High School

W.B. Goodwin Elementary School

District 9

Haut Gap Middle School

District 10

Carolina Voyager Charter School (St. Andrew’s Campus)

C.E. Williams Middle School – North Campus (formerly West Ashley Middle School)

District 20

Charleston Progressive Academy

Sanders-Clyde Elementary School

District 23

E.B. Ellington Elementary School

The District will also continue delivering meals to students at additional locations throughout the county, including seven Charleston County Public Library branches and at numerous summer camps.

Meal Service at Ladson

CCSD’s Department of Nutrition Services will continue adhering to CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommendations by practicing social distancing in kitchens and at meal service areas, taking the temperature of staff members, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and providing meals on a to-go basis only (at each school’s car rider drop-off line). he U.S. Department of Agriculture has provided the school district with the flexibility to allow the distribution of meals to adults to take home to children. Meals may be distributed to adults when children are not present if the adult is able to demonstrate proof of the child’s identity. Valid forms of identification may include, but are not limited to, school identification cards, school report cards, passports, birth certificates, government-issued child identification cards, or any document proving parent/guardian identity and relationship to the child (i.e. adoption decree, doctor, clinic, or hospital record, religious record, or daycare center record).
