First Reliance Bank Partners With Lowcountry Food Bank To Host “You Can Make A Difference” Food Bank Drive

On Friday, May 8, First Reliance Bank launched its “You Can Make A Difference” Food Bank Drive to assist those in need during the COVID-19 health crisis by restocking its local food banks. With the goal of accumulating 2,000-canned goods across all First Reliance Bank locations, each branch has partnered with a local food bank to serve as a designated drop off to collect donations until Friday, May 22.

The Bank’s Charleston branch has partnered with Lowcountry Food Bank to gather items for its food pantry. First Reliance Bank will gather food items in all its markets and make donations to 6 different charities:

“We are excited to partner with Lowcountry Food Bank to help provide meals for our community’s citizens that are in need,” said Rick Saunders, CEO/President of First Reliance Bank. “Our newly launched You Can Make A Difference Food Drive will feed thousands of individuals across the Carolinas and we encourage everyone to participate and help us exceed our goal in donating 2,000 canned goods to our community’s local food banks.

First Reliance Bank will provide bags at each of its drive-thru lanes for the collection and delivery of canned good donations. To ensure the safety of all parties involved, all caution will be used when collecting and handling the items. Each location has assigned designated areas for the items to be stored, and gloves and proper attire will be worn when handling the items in branch and at delivery to the food banks. If you’d like to make a contribution but do not wish to leave your home, monetary donations can be made online at LowcountryFoodBank.org.

Lowcountry Food Bank is a non-profit(c)(3) organization serving the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina through distribution centers in Charleston, Yemassee and Myrtle Beach.
