Southern Wealth in Music (S.W.I.M.), Murias Entertainment and the Royal American are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Cultura Festival. Cultura Festival is Charleston’s new and exclusive Hip-Hop, Dance, and R&B festival. It’s a collaborative event between Charles Carmody (Murias Entertainment), Matt “Monday” Bostic (S.W.I.M.), and John Kenney (The Royal American). Tickets are available now.
* UPDATE: Due to COVID-19, Cultura Festival has been postponed to a later date.
NEW DATE IS TBA. Please check back at https://www.citypapertickets.com/events/106289063/cultura-festival
The Cultura Festival takes place Saturday April 25th from 4pm-11pm in the Royal American parking lot at 970 Morrison Drive in downtown Charleston. There will be an arcade, vendor market, food trucks, a pop-up barbershop and featured performances from ten of Charleston’s best young musical acts. Headlining the event will be multi-tiered rapper/artist Curren$y, who was the first artist signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Label. For the first time in eight years, the New Orleans-based rapper will return to Charleston. “Curren$y was one of the first shows I opened for when I started performing so it’s exciting to have him headline the festival and see everything come full circle,” said Matt Monday.
The Cultura Festival is dedicated to providing a quality platform where artists can peacefully showcase and share the true culture of Charleston at an affordable price. “After the response from last year we knew we wanted to bring the festival back and make it bigger. We’re excited to see how it will grow organically and continue to contribute to the music scene in Charleston,” said Monday.
Early bird ticket pricing ($40) lasts until April 1. Tickets will be $50 afterwards. For more information about the Cultural Festival, email [email protected].
