Annual Transition Fair set to provide families with help and important information
Charleston County School District (CCSD), Berkeley County School District, Dorchester School District Two, Dorchester School District Four, and the Charleston Collaborative Action Network are sponsoring the 5th Annual Transition Fair. Students, parents, community members, business professionals, and media outlets are welcome and encouraged to attend.
This event assists students with all types and levels of disabilities, and their families, for life after high school. State and local vendors will be present to share information and will be available to help students who are transitioning (or will be transitioning in the next few years) from school to post-secondary education, employment, and/or independent living. In addition, local employers will be on-site to accept applications for employment.
Twenty-seven vendors are scheduled to participate, not limited to but including the following:
– Clemson Life
– Trident Technical College
– Synergy Support Services
– South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation
– AccessAbility – Bright Start
– SC Works – Club Horizons
– Beyond Basic
– Active Day
– Family Connections
There is no cost to attend, and the event is open to the public.
