Charleston Promise Neighborhood Receives Grants from Bosch Community Fund and South Carolina Federal Credit Union

Charleston Promise Neighborhood (CPN) is a recipient of the Bosch Community Fund for another year. The Bosch Community Fund is dedicated to providing teachers, students and local communities with the tools they need to create exceptional and innovative learning experiences for STEM education and advancing environmental sustainability initiatives. CPN is pleased to be a recipient of $20,000 to support the young scholars within their community.

“Again this year, Charleston Promise Neighborhood is thrilled to partner with the Bosch Community Fund to offer our students access to robust, STEM-related initiatives and experiences that will undoubtedly create the spark and influence their lives for years to come,” exclaims CEO Sherrie Snipes-Williams. “It is an honor to be a recipient of this most-impactful, competitive grant funding.”

Additionally, CPN has been awarded $5,000 from South Carolina Federal Credit Union (SCFCU) to assist in funding School-Day Supports—resources paid for by CPN that provide additional professionals in the schools, teacher professional development, youth leadership development programs, and field experiences for students.

SCFCU volunteers, led by Meredith Siemens, Vice President, Public Relations and Community Outreach, spent a day at Mary Ford Elementary School handing out hot chocolate and popcorn for students to enjoy on their last day in the classroom before holiday break.

“Again this year, CPN is thrilled to partner with South Carolina Federal Credit Union to bring additional, and much needed, supports to our schools. Helping to bring equitable opportunities for our students to excel will influence their lives for years to come!” says Director of Philanthropy, Karen Quadrio.

Charleston Promise Neighborhood is committed to ensuring that every child is on track to graduate high school equipped with the tools that they need to be successful in college, the workforce or the military. They continue to provide their students with afterschool and summer academics, in-school medical clinics and opportunities for parent and community engagement.

CPN supports four under resourced elementary schools in Charleston County. Through their efforts they are able to provide extended learning opportunities through afterschool and summer academics, events that engage parents and the community, and in-school health and wellness clinics for their students.
